Another popular restaurant by the beach is the Fish Beach Taverna. With the picturesque backdrop of the Mina Sehayi sunset, and later under the stars of the Arabian night sky, this restaurant looks straight out of some rom-com movie. Here you can cozy up with your special someone in one of their many bean bags while waiting for your food. If you prefer to be surrounded by lush greenery, you can choose a table in the garden.

Picture yourself in the middle of the desert, the night sky is full of stars, you are sitting by the bonfire on a comfy carpet, cuddling with your special someone as you watch traditional belly dancing and wait for your food to be served. Do you like that idea? If yes, then you should check out one of the overnight safari tours in Dubai.

Desert safaris are extremely popular in Dubai for both tourists and locals. Some safari operators offer a glamping experience where they arrange an overnight safari accommodation for an ultimate romantic Middle Eastern adventure experience.

A hot air balloon ride takes you 4,000 feet above the ground, where you get a bird’s eye view of the vastness of the Dubai desert. The best time to go is during the golden hours, this is the time when you will witness the majestic Arabian sunset. If you are lucky, you may spot some indigenous animals of the Middle East, such as camels and gazelles, strolling around. Some operators can even provide snacks while you enjoy the view of the sky.

Best Romantic Spots in Dubai

Sail the Dubai Creek and Have a Dinner Cruise

Running out of ideas? You cannot go wrong with the good old dinner cruise. The city of Dubai has the perfect balance of vast golden desert and long stretches of gorgeous beaches and water experiences. Glamorous Photo Shoots in Dubai

Glamour photography is a dream shoot for many women. It’s an exciting opportunity to get glammed up with gorgeous hair and makeup services and then have your photos taken in iconic locations. For this reason, a lot of women book a glamorous photo shoot in Dubai, because there are so many excellent locations to fulfill this dream. Whether you want to get your photos taken for your model portfolio or you want to take your vacation photos in Dubai to the next level, make sure you know a few essential tips to achieve those glam shots.

Expert Tips for a

Glam Shoot in

Dubai

Glamour photography is about showcasing the beauty of the model, which is you. There is an emphasis on perfectly sculptured hair, makeup, and dress, which is why you have to take the necessary preparation to set the mood for the shoot.

Below are some useful tips to keep in mind when doing your glamorous shoot in Dubai.

Expert Tips for a Glam Shoot in Dubai

1. Hire a professional hair and makeup artist

There is no way around this one. If you are doing a glamorous photo shoot in Dubai, you must work with a professional hair and makeup artist.

Even if you are good at doing your makeup, there is a certain level of skill and finesse required to achieve the stunning shots captured in glamour photography. Expert makeup artists know how to create the best looks that will complement your backdrop and make your photos visually stand out.

Moreover, professional makeup artists know how to work with the model’s features so that they can highlight your best facial features for the shoot. You must keep in mind that your hair and makeup will be essential features of your overall look for a glamour shoot, so it is worth the investment. If you can find a photography service that offers hair and makeup packages too, that is even better, as you’ll save time looking for someone to hire for your Dubai photo shoot.

2. Poses are essential in a glam shoot

Unless you are a professional model, it is important to practice your poses for a glam shoot in Dubai. The photography team can also coach you on the right poses to do for the shoot to capture the best shots. However, it is important to practice your poses in front of the mirror so you can determine the most flattering ones and which of them showcase your best features.

Make sure that you also work on your facial expressions. Even the best and most stunning poses can be ruined when you have the wrong facial expression for a particular shot. Poses and facial expressions go hand in hand.

3. Plan what to wear

Aside from your hair and makeup, your clothing is one of the most crucial components of a glamorous shoot in Dubai. Solid-colored outfits are the best option for glamorous shoots. Patterned dresses and big prints are a major no-no! These patterns can take away the attention from your face and glamorous look. Wearing bold patterns does not capture well in photos and might even look tacky!

The ideal outfit during a glamorous photo shoot would be something solid-colored and that fits you perfectly. It should neither be too loose nor too tight. If you are renting a dress for the shoot, make sure that it can be customized to fit you, or you can use safety pins to adjust the fit during the shoot. This might seem like a minor detail, but it will create a world of difference once you see the photos.

4. Choose an outdoor location

An outdoor location is the best option when doing glamorous shoots. While it’s possible to capture quality studio shots, you can add more visual drama and grandeur to your photos in an outdoor location. This is a must when shooting in Dubai because this city has plenty of stunning locations to choose from that will make your glamorous looks stand out.

One of the most popular locations in Dubai for this kind of shoot is the desert. The glistening sand dunes and the dramatic expanse will make your photos look like they are made for a magazine cover shoot.

If you hire a photographer in Dubai, they can recommend you the best locations for your photo shoot. You can also opt to do your shoot in more than one location, but that will depend on your agreement before doing the shoot. If you are changing locations, it is also a good idea to change your looks to suit the location.

5. Do not over-accessorize

Glamorous shoots are about you – the model. Hence, you need to invest in your hair and makeup (and your outfit) because these are going to be the focal point of your glamorous look. There is no need to add too many accessories. Just like wearing big patterns, they can take the focus away from your face and outfit.

Elegant looks are simple and minimalist. Plus, wearing too many accessories can be impractical when you are shooting in the desert as it can get really hot, depending on what time of year you book the shoot.

4 Tips for the Best Maternity Photoshoot In Dubai

A maternity photoshoot is one of the most memorable occasions that a woman will have in her lifetime. This photoshoot will give women the opportunity to capture this beautiful moment in their lives and look back on it for years to come. It is a celebration of a woman’s body and the miracle that it is pregnancy – bringing life into the world. Working with professional photographers who are experts on pregnancy photoshoots in Dubai is a must.

Reasons for Having a

Maternity Photoshoot

Why should you go to such lengths to plan a pregnancy photoshoot in Dubai? It’s simple – pregnancy is an exciting time in your life. It is a celebration of the miracle of sharing your body with your precious baby. Make sure to capture this special moment with the help of a professional photographer so you can show it to your baby when they grow older.

Many celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Demi Moore have done maternity shoots. It is also your last chance to cherish this moment before you welcome your new addition into the family. But most importantly, a pregnancy shoot is a celebration of your womanhood journey. Pregnancy is the pinnacle of that journey.

Pregnancy Photoshoot

Dubai Tips

Showcase that pregnancy glow and look your best when you step in front of the lens for your maternity photoshoot in Dubai. Follow these tips so you can capture the best photos of this special time in your life.

Pregnancy Photoshoot Dubai Tips

Tip 1: Shoot Your Maternity Photos between 32 and 36 Weeks

The moment you find out you are pregnant, you might be filled with excitement! This excitement can consume you so deeply that you already envision doing that maternity shoot. You have the concept in your head and your ideal dress to wear. But make sure to control your excitement because the key to a successful pregnancy shoot is to time it well.

The ideal stage of your pregnancy for a photoshoot is between 32 and 36 weeks. During this time, you are close to giving birth and your belly is in its full form already. The belly bump is the most crucial visual element of your photoshoot, so make sure you wait until you have reached this stage of your pregnancy before you schedule the shoot.

If you do your shoot earlier than this, the baby bump might not fully show yet. You want that gorgeous and full round shape on your belly, since it will be the star of the shoot.

If you wait too late, you might have already given birth and you won’t have the chance to do the shoot anymore. When you are close to your due date, doing a shoot is impractical because your belly will be too heavy by then. Make sure to start planning once you reach week 32 in your pregnancy.

Tip 2: Invest in Clothing, Hair, and Makeup

The clothing, hair, and makeup are critical elements for your pregnancy shoot. You must take time to select what to wear and how to style your hair. Ideally, your choices will be based on your selected theme.

If you don’t have a specific theme, you can choose any dress that does not have any patterns on it. Patterns are visually distracting, and they could take away the attention from your belly. The dress must also make you feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident. A maxi and flowing dress like the ones featured in a flying dress photoshoot is a perfect choice. It looks sexy yet elegant.

You must also invest in a professional hair and makeup artist. They can do the styling for you so that you can look your best for your maternity shoot. Keep in mind that you are only going to do this shoot once in your pregnancy journey, so you have to look your best.

Tip 3: Master Your Poses

Posing during your maternity shoot might not be the most comfortable position to be in, especially in the heat of the Dubai desert. Therefore, it is a good idea to practice a few poses in the mirror before you begin the shoot. Practicing will help you identify the most flattering looks for you and the best ways to showcase your pregnant belly.

Start with a few standard poses and then try some unique ones. Whenever choosing a pose for your shoot, never compromise your safety and comfort. Don’t attempt to do a pose that you are not comfortable with.

If this is your first time doing a pregnancy photoshoot in Dubai, you can browse magazines or online to find posing ideas. Be inspired by other pregnancy shoots, you can borrow some of these poses and make them your own.

Tip 4: Choose the Best Location

The location sets the tone for your maternity shoot. Therefore, you must invest time to research the best location that will serve as the backdrop for your shoot.

Dubai offers plenty of choices for your maternity shoot location. The Dubai desert is one of the most popular venues because the dramatic sand dunes will make your maternity outfit or flying dress appear more visually dramatic in the photo. If possible, shoot early in the morning or close to sunset. The sun beams glistening against the dunes will add more aesthetic flair to your photos. Also, there is an added benefit to shooting early in the morning or at dusk since the sun will not ber at its peak. Pregnant women might find the heat unbearable, and it could be a health risk too.

Several other locations in Dubai would make a great backdrop for the shoot. You can pick these locations according to your chosen theme.

Bonus Tip: Hire the Right Photographer

The most important tip when you want to do a pregnancy photoshoot in Dubai is to work with a professional photographer who has years of experience in maternity shoots. There are unique challenges when doing this kind of shoot, so working with someone who has plenty of experience will bring you your desired results.

You can also look at the photography style of each maternity photographer that you find in Dubai. Each photographer has their unique style, so choose the one that you like the most.

Things to know before you arrive in Abu Dhabi

Whether it’s your first time visiting the capital city of the UAE, or you’re a returning tourist, there are important things to know before you arrive.

Use this guide to help plan your visit and make the most of your stay.

Things to know

before you arrive in

Abu Dhabi

For the best experience (and to avoid trouble), you must familiarize yourself with the customs and traditions in Abu Dhabi.

Dress modestly

As with any other Muslim city, Emiratis are conservative dressers. You will often find people donning traditional attire. And while tourists are not expected to dress the same, you are expected to respect their customs by dressing modestly, especially in places of worship (mosques) and public places (parks, malls etc.).

You can’t go wrong with loose-fitting clothes that cover the shoulders and go beyond the knees. This applies to both men and women. You can also wear clothes with a higher neckline. Needless to say, you should avoid see-through and form-fitting clothes.

Swimming attire at beaches and hotel pools is allowed, but just to err on the side of caution, it would be best to choose swimwear that is not too revealing.

When visiting places of worship such as mosques, women are required to cover their heads by wearing an abaya (traditional scarf). Most mosques provide this for free though, including the world-famous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Time your visit

Make sure to know when the holy month of Ramadan starts and ends before visiting Abu Dhabi (or any cities in the UAE). Ramadan isn’t a good time for travelers, since nobody, including tourists, is allowed to eat or drink in public during the daytime as a show of respect to those who are fasting. Most businesses also have reduced operating hours.

Consider the climate

The best time to visit the city is between October and April. The potential for rain and strong wind is quite low, and the weather is quite cool, ranging from between 77F (25C) and 82F (28C).

May to October is the hottest season, and if you are not used to it, it can feel unbearable. The average June to September temperature, for example, can go up to 104F (40C).

You must consider your clothing depending on the season of your visit.

Know the unwritten rules of photography

Taking random photos of strangers (especially local women), and posting them on the internet is frowned upon, and may be illegal.

This may feel odd and tricky to navigate for modern globetrotters, especially in this time of social media, Instagram, and Tiktok. However, just because you are in a public place doesn’t give you the right to snap photos or take videos of people around you. Emiratis are big on privacy. Thus, it would be best to ask permission first.

Moreover, taking photos or recording videos of government-owned buildings, military installations, aircraft, etc., is strictly prohibited for security reasons.

top things to do in Abu Dhabi

On drinking and getting drunk in public

While most hotels and restaurants serve alcohol, drinking, getting drunk, and acting disorderly in public is prohibited and can get you in trouble with law enforcement.

On PDAs

Public displays of affection are not just frowned upon, they are illegal too. You can find plenty of signs posted around the city to remind you of this. While you can, of course, hold the hands of your wife or husband, hugging and kissing in public is considered offensive and may lead to jail time if caught.

On currency

The UAE’s official currency is called Emirati Dirham. While major credit and debit cards are accepted, local stores and smaller shops only accept cash. Thus, you may want to make sure you carry local cash with you to avoid any hassle. You can exchange your money at licensed currency exchange offices, and at banks and hotels.

What Are The Dos And Don’ts In Dubai?

Dubai welcomes millions of tourists from all over the world year after year. It is one of the most famous travel destinations in the Middle East because the people are friendly, the gastronomic scene is bustling, marvelous works of architecture and engineering are everywhere, and tons of amazing creative spaces are open to the public. However, you must remember Dubai is a Muslim country governed by Islamic laws, which means there are factors, rules, and laws to consider.

Here are the important dos and don’ts that you should be familiar with in Dubai .

Things You Should

DO in Dubai

Dress appropriately, if not conservatively

Starting with the most basic, ensure you dress moderately, especially in conservative areas, near places of worship, and public places. As with most Muslim cities, Dubai is largely conservative. Of course, this doesn’t mean you need to wear their traditional clothing. Although, when visiting places of worship and religious monuments, women should wear headscarves.

Shopping centers usually have dress codes. T-shirts and shorts are suitable in many places. But make sure your shirt doesn’t have any offensive prints or captions. Women should wear clothes that are not too revealing or tight. Shoulders and knees must be covered, and don’t wear see-through clothing.

Swimwear is generally acceptable around private beaches and swimming pools, but you must cover up elsewhere. If you are unsure, you can ask the resort. Topless sunbathing is illegal.

Cross-dressing is not only frowned upon, but it can lead to detainment.

what to wear and not to wear in Dubai

Respect local customs and traditions

Discovering different cultures and traditions makes you feel connected to the locals of the new place you are visiting. In Dubai, their cultures and traditions are largely influenced by their religion – Islam. If you familiarize yourself with their customs and traditions and respect their religion, they will give you the experience of a lifetime.

One good way to show your appreciation for their culture and tradition is by knowing their most basic greeting “AssalamuAlaikum.” Its literal translation is “Peace be with you,” and they usually use it as a greeting like “Hello.” If someone says that greeting to you first, the appropriate answer is “Wa-Alaikum-Salaam,” which means “And unto you peace.”

Check your prescription medications

Dubai has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs. Those found in possession of drugs can be detained. Moreover, their policy extends to some prescription medications, especially those that contain the painkiller codeine. Thus, make sure you do your due diligence and research about your medications. The last thing you want is to accidentally smuggle something illegal.

Avoid PDAs

Many couples choose to have their honeymoon in Dubai. If you are one of them, be aware that public display of affections are frowned upon in the city and deemed offensive. There are many cases of people getting arrested for simply kissing in public. You can, of course, hold hands with your partner. But this is only acceptable if you are married. This may seem out of place to people from other cultures, but that’s their law and culture. As a visitor, you have to respect that.

The best thing to do is to avoid any PDA until you are back in your hotel room.

Abide by Ramadan rules

If you time your vacation during Ramadan, make sure you are familiar with the rules and guidelines on how to behave during the religious festival. Eating, drinking, and smoking in public are strictly forbidden during daytime.

More importantly, there will be no clubbing, partying, or loud celebrations during their holy festival. Many Westerners avoid this season.

Things You Should

NOT Do in Dubai

Eat or drink in public transport

Eating, chewing gum, and drinking are prohibited in all forms of public transport in the city. This explains why their buses, trains, and trams are so impeccably clean.

Get Drunk in Public

In most Muslim countries, alcohol consumption is illegal. Dubai, on the other hand, allows this in licensed bars, hotels, and restaurants, and non-Muslims are allowed to drink. However, one of the biggest mistakes you can do is to be drunk in public as it is illegal to act disorderly in the city, Muslim or not. So make sure to drink within your limits and have a taxi drive you straight back to your hotel.

things to avoid in Dubai

Use swear words

Cursing, foul and vulgar language, swearing, getting into arguments, and fighting are frowned upon and could get you arrested. Many foreigners have been arrested in Dubai for this reason and for unknowingly making vulgar comments in the presence of undercover police officers.

Take photos of people without asking permission

It is not only considered rude to take photos of strangers in public, especially if you are taking a photo of local women, but there are laws that protect the privacy of people in the UAE. Taking people’s photos without their consent is an invasion of their privacy. So make sure you explicitly ask their permission.

Moreover, it is also illegal to snap photos of political buildings, government organizations, and strategic military locations for security reasons.

Flaunt your homosexuality

As with other Muslim countries, homosexuality is illegal in Dubai, since they consider all sexual relations outside heterosexual marriage a crime. The maximum penalty for this is 10 years of imprisonment followed by deportation if you are a foreigner.

This doesn’t mean members of the LGBT+ community cannot enter and enjoy Dubai. Again, dress modestly and no PDAs.

Insult Islam

This act is the worst thing you can do in Dubai or any Islamic country. Whatever your personal opinions are about religion, do not say anything bad or disrespectful about it in public. Blasphemy is a punishable offense in Islam, so keep your opinion to yourself.

The Takeaway

As said earlier, learning their customs and traditions can make a huge difference to your stay in Dubai. It’s a beautiful city and there are countless things to discover. Familiarize yourself with these dos and don’ts in Dubai to show your respect for the culture and have the best time in the city!
